Health Gateway Prescription History in BC: How to View Your Medication Record

A clear BC guide to finding prescription history through Health Gateway, what records may appear, and why not every record source is included.

Updated October 3, 2026

A practical way to find a prescription record

The B.C. PharmaCare page says you can download a record of prescriptions filled at B.C. community pharmacies by signing in to Health Gateway. You can also order a copy through your pharmacy or the Ministry of Health. [2]

What Health Gateway can and cannot show

Health Gateway says it provides access to records including medications, lab results, imaging reports and more. It also says it connects to many sources, but not all. [3]

That limitation matters. An absent item is not proof that a medication was never prescribed, filled or discussed. For a time-sensitive medication question, contact the dispensing pharmacy or care team directly.

A simple record-check routine

Step Purpose
Sign in using your BC Services Card Uses the official secure access route.
Review the medication section and download if needed Gives you a current personal reference.
Compare with bottles and your pharmacy list Helps flag questions for a pharmacist or prescriber.
Protect downloads and sign out on shared devices Keeps private health information private.

Health Gateway is a useful self-service record tool. It is not a substitute for emergency care or an individual clinical decision.

Official sources and a sensible next step

This is a BC healthcare-navigation guide, not individual medical advice. Confirm current service details directly with the official source. For an emergency, call 9-1-1.
